Looking for color & crimp? This is your girl!Dutchess has the most beautiful dense fleece with unbelievable crimp. She is medium brown with vicuna markings. (One breeder has suggested that she might be a paco-vicuna due to her markings, body style, and temperment.) Her fleece is very similar to her sire PHAR Online. (You can see his listing at Abenaki Farm's AN site.) She is 3/8 Accoyo (from her sire) and has two Reserve Color Championships and a 1st & 2nd places in halter to her credit. She is a big girl with plenty of room to carry cria. Bite and conformation are solid although her previous owner told us that she was walked on in a trailer as a cria. One of her back legs does toe out. She doesn't seem to pass that to her offspring.What a great mom she is! Very protective without being aggressive to caretakers, plenty of milk, and settled with one breeding. When we let the dams and crias out in the pasture, it's Dutchess who is usually on "cria patrol" watching over all the youngsters. Dutchess has had two beautiful daughters, both with lovely conformation and beautiful fleece. Everytime I see a new cria from Dutchess, I ask myself why she is on the sales list! She is a character. She loves to get her belly washed on hot days, and always gets a drink from the hose in the process. She is a gal that likes to do her own thing. Not crazy about getting her nails done! |
